CropLife holds Pesticide Forum in tandem with UPLB-NCPC
CropLife recently conducted a Pesticide Forum at the Acacia Hotel sa Muntinlupa. The event, attended by various stakeholders in the agriculture industry, was held in partnership with the UPLB's National Crop Protection Center.
“It is our goal to regularly hold pesticide forums so that our stakeholders will be informed of the latest trends in the industry as well as the status of pesticide regulation in the country,” CropLife Philippines Executive Director Edilberto de Luna said. “This helps participants make informed choices and empowers them with knowledge of what the right pesticides can do for their production.
The forum discussed a wide range of topics facilitated by experts from government agencies such as the Department of Agriculture, Fertilizer and Pesticide Authority, Department of Labor and Employment-Bureau of Working Conditions, UPLB’s National Crop Protection Center, integrated with regional perspectives provided by the CropLife.
Among the issues discussed during the forum were pesticide regulatory process in the country, the pesticides contribution to food security and safety, organic agriculture, broadening the choices for integrated pest management, pesticide toxicology, and pesticides as a component of integrated pest management.
“We are thankful for our partners for always sharing their expertise with our participants because knowledge truly makes an impact in the future trajectory of our country’s agriculture industry,” de Luna said.
